I my self had a D &C yesterday at 14 weeks because my babies (twins) had dies at 6 weeks and my body just wouldnt cooperate to go through the process itself! I had 3 ultrasounds to confirm the babies were gone and in fact they had already been reabsorbed into the wall. All that was left was the gestational sac and it just wouldnt pass and the cervix was completely closed and the ultrasound showed NO signs of going anywhere!! Soo my wonderful Dr said we havd to do a D & C !! I was only having very, very bleeding and a closed cervix and am reallly happy my DR did what she knew was best!! I am even MORE glad I didnt have a nosey OR tech listening in thinking my DR was doing something she wasnt supposed to do because there was no real bleeding and I had a closed cevix !! Maybe if its not your case your working on you shouldnt be listening in!!

I am a OR tech and have much the same situation as...

I am a OR tech and have much the same situation as you - Prolife, checked about on demand (elective) abortions prior to accepting a job, etc. Today, a 16 year old that had had 1 previous abortion was brought into the OR, and a suction D & C was preformed on her reportedly 12 week missed ab. There was no vaginal bleeding, no cervical dilation, no sign of a miscarriage. I was not the tech in the room, but was in the core just outside and heard the nurse and techs comments. I am wondering if the Dr. snuck in an abortion today - I am trying to figure out what rights (if any) I have to protest, report, whistle blow etc. I would like to see the patients records to see if a preop pregnancy test was preformed and what the results were. If the hospital policy was breached I think the powers that be should know, but right now I am sad, and angry and bewildered. I appreciate your blog and just wanted to vent to someone who'd understand - God knows what happened, even though I may never know.

Wow I could not do what you do.
