How Cute!

I know I haven’t seen any dogs in our hospital, but when I was in Nursing school, the first clinical we had involved going to several nursing homes and learning how to take care of the residents there. One of the more progressive of the homes actually had animals on the premises, including birds, cats and dogs.

The website, Yorkie Cross Breed Temperaments has the cutest little dogs I have ever seen! One of the cuties is named Isabella and she is a teacup Yorkshire terrier. The other dog featured on the site is named Bubba. He is a Silky terrier. And they both look really adorable and cute.

I’ll bet the residents in nursing homes would go ga-ga over these two precious doggies. The nursing home did this to try to make the facility appear as much like home as possible to the residents. Even though the residents may not have had dogs, cats or birds before being admitted to the facility, it was still a nice way to bring the outside world into the confinements of the nursing home.

I have a Chihuahua, 13 years old. She is not all cute and cuddly like a teacup dog, but I still love her. She’s a little on the nervous side, as most Chihuahuas are! Therefore, she would not do well in a facility like that. But these two little canines would probably be a hit. My dog would probably growl at and bite the poor elderly folk, but Bubba and Isabella would probably be all cuddly and loving.

Yorkie Cross Breed Temperaments includes some good articles about Bubba and Isabella. It also has an article with information about rescuing one of these breeds from animal shelters and articles about how and where to buy Yorkshire terriers, what to feed them, how to train them, including the all-important “house-breaking”, information about joining a kennel club and more. So go check out their website and see these little cuties!
